EVERY KINDLE UNLIMITED BOOK I’VE READ (and some thoughts)

ALL THE BOOKS ON KINDLE UNLIMITED THAT I HAVE READ (and my thoughts)

I know Kindle Unlimited can be an overwhelming place. There are SO MANY OPTIONS and a lot of authors that you may have never heard about before. I wanted to share SUPER brief thoughts on all of the books from KU that I have read to help you find some book recs.

These are organized by genre. I mostly read thrillers and memoirs on KU but I try to read a little bit of everything! There should be something for everyone on this list!

If you let me know books that you have loved in the comments, I can find a KU rec for you!

Also, follow me on #bookstagram so we can be friends! @pishposhpages

*When I read each of these books, they were on Kindle Unlimited. I can’t guarantee that they still are!

**Sorry about the punctuation here... There are a lot of fragmented sentences in these little blurbs!

MEMOIRS

  • Call Me Tuesday by Leigh Byrne

This memoir from a child abuse survivor is heartbreaking but a well told story.

  • Eat, Pray, #FML by Gabrielle Stone

Not good. TikTok tricked me on this one. Eat, Pray, Love if an annoying influencer wrote it. Sorry Gabs – you have great social media skills for making this one go viral!

  • Good Morning Monster by Catherine Gildiner

INCREDIBLE. A therapist shares stories from her past clients that created one of the most moving non-fiction books I have ever read.

  • Nothing Like I Imagined by Mindy Kaling

All of Mindy’s books are so fun! This collection of shorts is no exception!

  • Spilled Milk by K.L. Randis

Kelly’s story of strength through experiencing child abuse and sexual abuse is emotional and inspiring.

  • The United States of Anxiety by Jen Lancaster

    Terrible. Whiny. Not. Good.

  • Wholly Unraveled by Keele Burgin

The most underrated memoir! Comparable to Educated by Tara Westover but I actually liked this one more!

NOVELS

  • Darryl by Jackie Ess

This satire read is VERY DIFFERENT. Read the synopsis first!

  • Have You Seen Luis Velez? by Catherine Ryan Hyde

This one is a slow read but it warms the heart!

  • In An Instant by Suzanne Redfearn

Great coming-of-age read that is introspective while still being fast-paced.

  • Running the Light by Sam Tallent

This one is intense but AMAZING. This is the tale of a troubled stand up comedian and it is a must-read if you love stand up!

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT/SELF HELP

  • Boss Up by Lindsay Teague Moreno

Alright business/social media info but not groundbreaking – LTM grew her following through an MLM and then moved on to business coaching.

  • The Code. The Evaluation. The Protocol. by Jocko Willink

Very short self help read with an intense and direct style from a former Navy SEAL.

  • Girl On Fire by Cara Alwill Leyba

Typical personal development girl boss read. I like these every once in a while.

  • Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis

    See above (lol)

  • Speak With No Fear by Mike Acker

Fantastic, quick read for those looking to improve their public speaking skills!

  • To Hell With The Hustle by Jefferson Bethke

This one is more geared towards those with children and is focused on making time for what matters (family) instead of getting stuck in the hustle and grind of work and social status. It’s good if that is something you are looking for guidance on!

  • Tribe of Mentors by Tem Ferriss

A collection of advice from leaders in all kinds of industries – tech, religion, fitness, mindfulness, and more. THIS HAS SO MUCH GOODNESS but it is pretty long!

ROMANCE

  • Bed Stuy by Jerry McGill

A beautiful romance read set in NYC that no one is talking about!

  • Flock by Kate Stewart

Very popular on booktok and bookstagram but not my favorite... TBH the best part of this book is the smut.

  • The Idea of You by Robinne Lee

SO GOOD. I can’t believe this one is on Kindle Unlimited!! Steamy with a good plot. The perfect beach read.

  • Layla by Colleen Hoover

My first paranormal romance and I enjoyed it! Not as intense as Verity but still good!

THRILLERS

Okay, this section needs some additional explanation because I read SO MANY thrillers. Gregg Olsen and Minka Kent are my two favorite thriller authors and they both have a TON of books on KU. This is always my first rec when people are looking for books on Kindle Unlimited.

  • The Hive by Gregg Olsen

This thriller is about a cult in the Pacific Northwest – gives Gweneth Paltrow/Goop gone wrong vibes!

  • Hush Little Baby by Suzanne Redfearn

One of my favorite KU books I’ve found. Such a good thriller. I need to reread this one!

  • If You Tell by Gregg Olsen

My favorite book of ALL TIME. This thriller is based on a true story which makes it EXTRA disturbing.

  • The Last Sister by Kendra Elliott

An OKAY thriller based in northwest Oregon that touches on white supremacy through a small town crime

  • The Last Thing She Ever Did by Gregg Olsen

This one is set in Bend, OR is disturbing in so many ways but, as always, a great thriller from Gregg

  • Lying Next To Me by Gregg Olsen

Another great thriller from Gregg Olsen that is set in the Pacific Northwest. Classic thriller vibes.

  • The Memory Watcher by Minka Kent

    Stalker vibes. Classic Minka Kent.

  • Open House by Katie Sise

This one moves a little slowly but I ended up really enjoying this thriller that goes back and forth between the main character’s college life and the present.

  • The Perfect Roommate by Minka Kent

Psychological thriller that really makes you question the characters

  • The Silence by Kendra Elliott

Sequel to The Last Sister. More of the same.

  • Snow Creek by Gregg Olsen

This one is creepy and disturbing but not SCARY. Another one set in the Pacific Northwest with a female detective leading the case and sharing her backstory as well.

  • The Sound of Rain by Gregg Olsen

Book 1 in the Nicole Foster series. Female Detective with an interesting backstory solves a crazy crime in the Seattle area. I loved this one.

  • The Stillwater Girls by Minka Kent

One of my TOP 5 BOOKS EVER. INCREDIBLE THRILLER.

  • The Thinnest Air by Minka Kent

I love a thriller that includes some glamorous lifestyle and this one has it! It also has a kidnapping. What more could you want??

  • This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp

Extremely fast-paced book that goes minute by minute through a school shooting.

  • Unmissing by Minka Kent

A kidnapping/reentering into “normal” life read... Not my favorite Minka Kent book but it was still entertaining.

  • Unspeakable Things by Jess Loury

This one is written from the perspective of kids trying to solve a very dark crime that is going on in their town. I enjoyed this one but it is disturbing.

  • The Weight of Silence by Gregg Olsen

Book 2 in the Nicole Foster series. More of the same. Good stuff. Crazy ending.

  • When I Was You by Minka Kent

Psychological thriller that grips you the whole time!

TRUE CRIME

  • Deceived by Michael King

This one is about a sex crime cult based out of Utah and reads like watching a documentary. If you like cults, this one is for you!

  • To The Bridge by Nancy Rommelmann

This is a heartbreaking story of a mother who attempted to murder her two children by dropping them off of a bridge in Portland, OR. This one is really dark and a little slow moving but perfect for dark true crime lovers.

Whew... THAT IS A LOT OF BOOKS!

I hope this helps you on your KU journey!
